Celebrity Make Up
It may not be as difficult as you think to look (and feel!) like a movie star. When it comes down to it, even the celebrities need help to look beautiful. The celebrity secret to beauty is in well-chosen and applied make up products. Are you ready to look like a million bucks? Here are the celebrity make up secrets for three of Hollywood’s hottest stars: Halle Berry, Lucy Liu, and Jennifer Aniston.
Halle Berry
Halle’s Face: Halle uses a touch of concealer on the inner corner of the eyes and underneath the eyes to cover dark circles and even out her skin tone. She also uses a little concealer on her eyelids to act as a base for her eye shadow. Next, Halle applies foundation and blends it in well with the rest of her face. On her cheeks, Halle uses a pink or mauve shade blush.
Halle’s Eyes: Halle starts with a pearly light gold eye shadow that she applies on the upper portion of the lid, down to the eye lid crease. Next, she uses a mauve or rose-colored eye shadow that she applies to the outer half of each lid. A darker tone of mauve or rose is then used to line the eyelid crease. For her eye liner, Halle uses either a dark chocolate brown or deep wine color eyeliner pencil. She applies a thin line to both the top and bottom eyelids; being sure to stay close to the lash line. She blends the line with a small sponge or a Q-tip. After brushing her eye brows, Halle fills them in with an eye brow pencil. She finishes off her eyes by curling her eye lashes and applying a black, lengthening mascara.
Halle’s Lips: Halles’s trick for smooth lips is to brush them very gently with an old, soft toothbrush. Then she uses Vaseline on her lips and allows it to sit for about a half an hour. Her lip liner is chosen to match the tone of her blush. Next, she applies one coat of a complimentary lipstick and blots with a tissue before applying the second coat.
Lucy Liu
Lucy’s Face: Lucy uses minimal foundation and concealer on her face, to allow for the most natural look. She uses a yellow-based concealer under the eyes and in inner corners to hide dark circles and blends it well into her skin. For foundation, Lucy uses a powder-based product and sets it with a light application of translucent powder. Lucy’s blush is a red or coral-based color, depending upon the time of day and the occasion. She applies it lightly to the apples of the cheeks, as well as her temples, nose and chin. Lucy’s secret to natural looking blush is to apply a small amount and blend, blend, blend.
Lucy’s Eyes: Lucy uses neutral eye shadow and pencil tones to achieve her natural, classic look. She uses brown eye shadow on the lower portion of her eye lid, followed by a darker brown in the eye lid crease. She the highlights her eyes and adds a touch of glamour by using a cream or pale beige across the upper portion of the eye lid. Lucy’s eye liner is black or charcoal in liquid form. She applies the eye liner on the top lash line, from the inner corner all the way to the outer corner. Next, she uses a dab of brown eye shadow on the outer half of the lower lash line. Lucy defines her eye brows with brown pencil or powder. Finally, Lucy’s curls her eye lashes and applies her black or black-brown mascara. She uses two to three coats on the upper lashes and one coat on the lower lashes.
Lucy’s Lips: Lucy uses a touch of lip liner that compliments the tone of her blush. Next, she applies a coat of lip color followed by lip gloss for extra glamour.
Jennifer Aniston
Jennifer’s Face: Jennifer uses a light, dewey foundation to even out her skin tone and make her face appear healthy and fresh. Next, she uses concealer at the inner corners of the eyes and underneath her eyes to cover dark circles. Her blush is a peach tone followed by translucent powder to “set” the look.
Jennifer’s Eyes: For her eyes, Jennifer uses a very light, pearly eye shadow over the entire lid. She follows this up with a light taupe on the eye lid crease and a pearly, neutral shade on the upper portion of the eye lid. Her eye liner is a medium or dark brown applied to the top lash line only, from the inner corner to the outer corner. Jennifer uses a brow brush and a light touch of eye brow pencil to fill in sparse areas. She then uses two to three coats of black, thickening mascara over curled lashes.
